I think on our birthday's, we should give our mothers cake instead. They deserve it so much more.

It's not like we did much anyway, just sayin'.

Tonight we celebrated my grandmother's birthday. It was a family feast at a restaurant nearby. 

Mmm, Peking duck. They were cutting the cake(carrot with walnuts), taking pictures, 

and everything just went by pretty fast. She looked so happy

sitting at the round table, and completely surrounded by her grandchildren. 

When we were singing the birthday song, I wondered why we weren't singing louder. 

In the cases of some of the people there, like we just wanted to get it over with and go home.

 I guess I hadn't realized it till now, but it just hit me: she's not getting any younger,

 and occasions like these are just hard to come by. 

How would I feel if one day, I could not celebrate my grandmother's birthday?

Have I appreciated my grandmother enough?
